Last Two Weeks where super full. I am working full time for a software company and had some business trips and also in private life there were some events.

Because of that I even forgot that i had a launch on product hunt (https://www.producthunt.com/products/pausitive?launch=pausitive) with Pausitive, oh well 😅

But what did i do the last two weeks?

Pausitive Demos

I have a big marketing problem: I can’t get the word out about what I’ve made. I’ve tried building in public on Twitter and Bluesky, got some likes and followers, but that’s about it. So, I think the next step will be YouTube Shorts,making some content and indirectly mentioning my products or sharing helpful tips. The main focus should be on ads, though.

On another note, I’ve made some contacts with a company that might be interested in Pausitive and requested a demo. 👍 Let’s see how that goes.

Motivation to make more steps

Since Pausitive is kind of done and waiting for real user feedback (beyond my testers), I’ve shifted my focus back to StepMat.

I recently saw that it has had more than 100 downloads 👏. I know it’s cumulative, and maybe some of those are bots, but even the Google Play Console shows more users for this app. Plus, there have been 10 sign-ups for the social feature, which is nice.

I use this app myself, and one feature, which was the main reason for creating the app, isn’t motivating me or my testers. It’s the reward system. In the app, you can create a reward and 'buy' it with hearts. Hearts are a currency in the app that you earn by completing challenges. Currently, they’re also used to unlock some challenges

But this game loop isn’t really motivating. So, I’m thinking something needs to change there, and I’ve come up with something cool that’s actually making me do more steps 🕶️.
Basically, you’ll need to take a specific number of steps to earn rewards. No more translating it to another currency and back. You’ll be able to focus on the reward and switch between them. So, if there’s a reward with a big step threshold and you’re going for a run, you’ll add the progress to that reward and then go back to maybe a smaller one in your daily life.

I’m also working on monetization. The app is completely free and always will be. For most features, you don’t even need an account. Some sites show ads, but that’s limited because I get annoyed by apps that show too many ads.

Ads removal, exports, imports, more rewards, more social features, and more stats insights are all on the todo list. Let’s see what I’ll tackle first.
